Facial rollers: the easiest place to start
A roller is the simplest tool to use: you just roll it over your face, usually after applying a serum or moisturizer. There is no technique to learn, which makes it a good choice for beginners and for quick morning routines.
The 30 Germanium Beauty Roller Stick ($25) has 30 embedded germanium stones along a smooth-gliding, ergonomic stick measuring 19 x 172mm. It is completely manual, so there are no batteries or cords, and it comes in several colors.
Choose a roller if: you want something simple, affordable and quick to use every day.
Gua sha stones: a hands-on massage ritual
Gua sha is a traditional massage technique that uses a smooth, flat-edged tool gently glided across the skin, usually with a facial oil so it moves easily. It takes a little more practice than a roller and is often done more slowly, as a relaxing evening ritual.
The Black Obsidian Beauty Face Care Massage Bar ($79.53) is made of Bian stone and is designed for gua sha-style facial massage. Many people also like using it to work creams and serums into the skin.
Choose a gua sha stone if: you enjoy a slower self-care routine and want to learn a traditional massage technique.
LED light masks: hands-free sessions
LED masks sit over your face and shine different colors of light while you rest. They take no technique at all, which appeals to people who want a relaxing, hands-free routine.
The LED Light Therapy Facial Mask ($87–$99) offers 7 light colors. Always follow the included instructions for session length and use.
Choose an LED mask if: you want a hands-free device you can use while relaxing.
Electric gua sha and cupping devices: adjustable body massage
Electric devices combine gua sha-style scraping with suction (cupping) and adjustable settings. They are mainly designed for the body rather than the delicate skin of the face.
The Electric Vacuum Cupping Massager and Gua Sha Device ($62.93–$90.20) has 12 suction levels and 12 heat levels, a one-key pressure release, and switches off automatically after 20 minutes. It is wireless, small and lightweight, so it is easy to use at home or take with you.
Choose an electric device if: you want a body massage tool with adjustable suction and warmth.
Tips for using facial tools safely
- Always start with clean skin and a clean tool, and wash your tool after each use.
- Use light pressure, especially around the eyes.
- Apply a serum, oil or moisturizer first so the tool glides instead of dragging.
- Avoid broken, irritated or sunburned skin.
- For electric and heated devices, follow the included instructions, and check with a healthcare provider first if you are pregnant, have a medical condition, or are unsure whether a device is right for you.

Face tools FAQ
Should I use a roller or a gua sha stone?
If you want something quick and simple, start with a roller. If you enjoy a slower, hands-on routine, try a gua sha stone. Some people use both.
Do I need to use oil or serum with a facial tool?
Yes, it helps. A serum, oil or moisturizer lets the tool glide smoothly instead of pulling on your skin.
Can I return a face tool?
Opened or used beauty tools cannot be returned for hygiene reasons. If a tool or device arrives damaged, defective or wrong, email info@royalessencelux.shop with your order number and photos. See our Refund Policy.
How long does shipping take?
Orders are processed within 1–3 business days, then delivery takes 3–7 business days in the USA or 7–20 business days internationally. Free US shipping is available on most products, and any shipping cost is shown at checkout.
